What is Important to Me?

I believe it is imperative that the City of Bridgeport maintains visibility and open lines of communication with the Harrison County Board of Education so that our children can continue receiving the best possible chance for success in learning.

Keeping good rapport with current and future board members will allow the City of Bridgeport’s voice to be recognized and heard, as it relates to our curriculum, the safety of our children, current facilities, future growth, and the need for new modernized facilities.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working closely with the Harrison

County Board of Education and feel that our already existing relationship is a great asset to have as a city councilman for the City of Bridgeport.

......Our Community

As a current member of the Bridgeport Development Authority, I have had the honor of being a part of the major decisions as it relates to economic development within the city.

I am also aware of the economic engines that are powering our city, namely Charles Pointe, White Oaks, Main Street and the NCWV regional airport.  Providing a long-term positive economic impact for our city, will be the result of proper planning for steady, sustained economic growth for our city and its residents.

Incentive programs have eased some of the burden start-up businesses encounter.  Partnering with current businesses allows those businesses to know that we appreciate them and ensures the owners know we want them to succeed!

If elected, I will work with council and local business partners to make sure we continue to assist in new business development, while maintaining and nurturing our current businesses.

......Our Future

Keeping residents apprised and aware of issues throughout the city has become a focus in our digital media world. Utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Nixel and other media, our residents are now more aware of alerts, emergencies and issues within the city. This use of technology, along with the potential to become a gigabit city, provides a foundation to build a solid information technology platform that can provide opportunities to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Our residents are critically important to the vitality of the city.  Continuing to offer activities for adults, children and families alike, is crucial to living in a vibrant community, where everywhere you go, you see a familiar face. The city's recreational complex is blossoming into an epicenter of activity for youth sports and with plans for an indoor recreational facility on the horizon, proper planning must be a primary focal point in growth at the complex.

Public Safety goes hand in hand with this quality of life.  Having a strong emergency medical service, police and fire departments, allow us all to sleep better at night, knowing that these men and women are working diligently to provide us with a blanket of security.

If elected to city council, I will listen to resident concerns and work with council, city officials, local law enforcement and emergency medical departments to ensure that our technology advancements continue, our quality of life stays elevated and our families are safe and well protected in our great city.
